Netgear Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter

Netgear Powerline HD Ethernet AdapterSometimes you have a need for a wireless router or wireless access point, but because of the distance, or type of construction, you can’t use a traditional wireless router.  When you attempt to, you find that you have either no signal, or one that is unreliable.  Well there are new products that can solve your problem.  One of them is the Netgear Powerline Ethernet Adapter.

The Netgear adapter is a bit different in the way that it operates.  It turns your household current into a transmission network.  Simply plug one Netgear Powerline Ethernet adapter into your router, and then plug the other end into the wall socket.

Then, you plug another Netgear Powerline Adapter into your computer, and the other end of the second Adapter into the wall socket.  That’s it.  No running wires, no worrying about the signal strength or viability of the wireless signal.

The only requirement is that both Adapters have to be electrically connected to the same household circuit. The Netgear Powerline Adapter transfers data at rates over two hundred Mbps, and can help send things over ten times faster than other networks. You can link up to sixteen Powerline adapters on the same household circuit.  The other requirement is that you have an Ethernet RJ-45 cable and Ethernet port on the back of your desktop or laptop.

The RJ-45 cable plugs into one of the Netgear Powerline Adaptors, then into the household circuit.  The other Powerline Adapter unit plugs into the household circuit, and then into the router or access point.  With an easy to use Users guide, and plug and play operation, it is both simple to use, and easy to install.   The successful link between an access point and your computer requires at least two Netgear Powerline Adapters.  Additional units can be added, up to sixteen per circuit.
