There are routers, and then there are fast, reliable routers. The Gigabit Linksys Wireless Gigabit Storage Router is one of the later. It has it all, a speed and distance enhanced wireless access router, an Internet Sharing Wireless feature, Wired flexibility with built in 10/100 ports, a four port Gigabit internal Internet Switch, and a fully expandable Media Storage server.
Linksys packed a great deal into the package when they designed this server. With its onboard MIMO technology, the speed is up to literally fifteen times as fast for Internet access, and the file transfer rate is a blazing 54 Mbs. It has on average three times the range of normal wireless routers, and is small profile, so it can fit anywhere.
The Gigabit Linksys Wireless Storage Router is one of the first to offer expandable storage. You can store material, files and data right on the router with its USB connection. Simply connect a flash storage device, or a USB external hard drive, basically any USB compatible storage device will likely work for onboard media storage. In this manner you can add gigabits or online storage swiftly and easily.
The Gigabit Linksys Wireless Router streams media from your router storage to any Plug and Play media adapter. It features very secure 256-bit Wireless Protected access, both WPA and WPA2 encryption is utilized to keep your data save. It also has a redundant WEP encryption system for older systems that features 64 and 128 bit encryption.
Using its new Wireless N technology, it uses Multiple in, multiple out, (MIMO) and creates literally waves of overlapping signal. This is great for environments that are resistant to wireless networks, and assures a strong, heavy-duty signal.
