Here is a new kind of fun wrinkle in the Wireless USB Community: A truly portable plug and play travel Wireless Access point.
The Cradle Point Travel Wireless USB router is different in that there is now finally a router that is designed to be mobile. Both in small size and weight, this router is handy, and comes full featured to allow for a lot of flexibility on the move.
This router is able to connect to both DSL and Wireless cable access points, or to the broadband connection you may find on the road, such as an Ethernet connection in a motel or hotel room. Just connect this router up, and in moments you have your own wireless network, free from the limitations of having to be cable connected. Think of the freedom and flexibility this would allow you. You can roam freely in your mobile setting, not having to worry about tripping over a darn wire or having a cable get in your way.
Think of it as a dynamic personal WiFi Hotspot. It is highly adaptable, you can also use it to set up a wireless network using an EVDO USB connection, or even your cell phone. Simply connect your cell phone using its proprietary USB data cable, to the incoming Internet port, and away you go. The onboard RJ45 port has an auto detect feature for incoming WAN or outgoing LAN Ethernet signals.
This router can power a USB modem or charge your cell phone when connected to it using the USB input. It is compliant with both Wireless B and Wireless G protocols. (802.11b and 802.11g, respectively).
